St Helens-born Warrington stand-off Lee Briers knows his team must produce their best performance of the season if they are to improve their depressing record against bogey team St Helens.
The Wolves have beaten Saints just once in 31 Super League derbies and have lost the last 13, including the second match of the season at Knowsley Road.
Briers, who kicked eight goals in Warrington's only victory, a 56-22 success at Wilderspool in
2001, insists the dismal record is not preying on his team-mates' minds - but expects Saints to cast aside their indifferent recent form.
''They have been inconsistent but I guarantee they will be on top form on Friday,'' said Briers, who began his professional career with a brief spell at St Helens in 1997.
''They usually are against Warrington - and also Wigan. We know what's coming, it's how do we stop it? That's the question we're all asking.
''We believe we have structures in place to stop them and we're ready
for the challenge. We need to stand up and be counted and get on a roll.
''We don't speak about our record against Saints. We always go into every game believing we are going to win.''
While Warrington are aiming to halt a run of three successive engage Super League defeats, Saints are looking for their first away victory since winning at Bradford in February.
