Ex-Saints forward Mike Bennett has been postponed by the bad weather.
Saints fans, volunteers and members of the first team squad battled the weather conditions to get Knowsley Road ready for Bennett's testimonial - but their efforts were all in vain.
The match against Barrow Raiders, which was scheduled to take place this Sunday (January 17), has now been called off.
Despite the disappointment, stalwart Bennett spoke to thank everyone who pitched in to try to make the pitch playable.
He said: "It was heart-warming to see the number of fans, volunteers, Saints staff and my former teammates helping to clear the pitch yesterday. It is very much appreciated and I would like to thank them all for their help.
"Unfortunately, the weather has beaten us but I will be touched by the response of my friends for a long time to come."
