Anderson returns home

Life has gone full circle for former Saints' supremo Daniel Anderson after he was appointed head coach at Parramatta Eels.
Anderson, who recently returned home after a trophy-laden three and a half years at St Helens, has taken over as boss at Parramatta Eels where his coaching career began as a member of the backroom staff.
"I have a long history with the cub and I consider it a real privilege to be given the opportunity to coach my home-town club," said 41-year-old Anderson, who has signed a three-year deal with the NRL outfit.
He added: "I started my coaching career here in 1991 and it has long been a goal of mine to return. "I am a Parramatta boy, grew up here, and apart from the last eight years, I have spent my life here.
"Needless to say, I am incredibly enthusiastic the about the chance that I have been given and I am looking forward to helping Parramatta rise up the league ladder."
Club chief executive Denis Fizgerald said: "Daniel has proven himself one of the best Rugby League coaches in the world.
"Furthermore he is well aware of the structure throughout al levels at our club and he has shown enthusiasms to get on with the job."
Saints' chairman Eamonn McManus said: "We are delighted that Daniel has found himself a new post so quickly and wish him all the best in the future
"Let's hope the two clubs meet in the World Club Championship in the not too distant future."
Anderson, who helped Saints win every conceivable honour in the game, takes over from Michael Hagan. Hagan quit the post as few weeks ago with still 12 months to run of his contract for personal reasons.
