Vandals have targeted Saints stadium for the second time in 14 days.
Officials arrived for work yesterday morning to find thieves had ransacked the club's Touchlines bar.

The break-in is the latest in a long line of incident during which windows have been smashed, food kiosks have been broken into, storage rooms ha
ve been ransacked and the shop has been raided in the space of only a few weeks.

Tuesday morning's raid saw thieves smash a window to gain entry to the premises before stealing wine and spirits.

Bob Singleton, Saints ground safety officer, said: "The window being smashed is the latest in a long line of criminal damage at the club and it is unacceptable.

"Recently, we have had food kiosks broken into and the room used to house the mascot and other items ransacked. The shop has also been targeted.

"St Helens RLFC provides entertainment and recognition for the entire town yet some sections of the community seem intent on inflicting damage to the stadium.

"Repairs cost money that could be better spent on developing youth and other facilities at the club."

A Saints spokesman confirmed that it was becoming a weekly occurrence and asked the community to keep an eye out for criminal activity and to report anything suspicious to the police.

A police spokesman said: "We attended the incident at 8.20am on Tuesday. A window had been broken, intruders had entered and they stole wine and spirits from the premises. We are currently examining CCTV."
Anyone with information should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
