Four foreign exchange students have been adding a touch of continental flair to St Helens.
Three French retail students and one German student have been gaining retail experience across St Helens town centre for the past month.

One of the students - 18-year-old Quentin Schaaen - enjoyed a two-week stint at the Tyrers department store.

Tyrers store manager Mike Duff said: "Quentin is a student in St Helens' twin town - Chalon Sur Saone - and he was great. St Helens Chamber contacted us to ask if we could give him some retail experience and we were only too happy to help.

"Quentin worked in the men's department and the restaurant and interacted really well with our customers. He was a really nice lad.

"His English was very good but we sent him away with a few St Helens phrases too!"
