A Freemason was so inspired by a St Helens charity's appearance on the Secret Millionaire television show that he's set to take on a 200-mile fundraising trek.
Londoner Scott Cargill, 37, is set to walk from Liverpool to the capital in just eight days to raise precious funds for the HoneyRose Foundation charity in St Helens.

Using nothing more than a GPS watch and a Google map, Scott will set off from Huyton on Saturday, March 27, and hopes to arrive at his home in Chiswick, West London, on Easter Sunday (April 4).

He decided to take on the marathon trek as part of his fundraising activities during his year as Master of his Masonic Lodge.

Scott said: "It will certainly be the toughest thing that I have ever done but it will be a great achievement."

The HoneyRose Foundation was founded in St Helens by Lynn Duffy after she lost three of her closest friends to terminal illnesses.

The charity, which funds and arranges special days for adults suffering from a terminal illness, was saved from financial meltdown last year by Pimlico Plumbing boss and undercover millionaire Charlie Mullins.

When the HoneyRose Foundation's plight was featured on the popular Secret Millionaire television show last year, Scott's wife, Lesley, recommended it to her husband for his charity of the year.

Lynn Duffy said: "We're absolutely delighted that Scott has chosen the HoneyRose Foundation as his premier charity of the year. We wish him all the best with his trek!"
