Police have issued a warning after a handbag containing potentially dangerous pills was stolen in St Helens on Saturday afternoon (June 27).
The handbag, which was stolen in Church Square at about 5.30pm, contained Metformin and Gabapetin tablets inside a blister pack.

Metformin in particular, an anti-diabetic drug, is considered potentially dangerous if taken.

The 12 Metformin tablets, which are described as white, round and slightly larger than paracetamol, were contained in a blister pack inside a red and white box.

Fourteen Gabapetin tablets were also contained in the same blister pack.
Anyone who finds the handbag or the tablets is urged to contact St Helens Police or take them to their nearest police station.
