A man who escaped from a mental heath unit sparking a massive police search has been found.
The man, who was sporting unusual attire including a purple bandana, ginger dreadlocks and a beard, was spotted by the East Lancs on Saturday (August 23).
He was approached by police who decided that he 'is not a threat to himself or the public' and they let him go.
He was last seen in the Greater Manchester area.
The man, believed to be aged between 25 and 35, walked out of the Coniston ward in Whiston Hospital last Wednesday (August 20).
He first came to the attention of police when staff at Blundell Hill Golf Course in Rainhill saw him wandering aimlessly around one of the fairways.
They contacted the emergency services and he was taken to Peasley Cross hospital at 6pm on Monday (August 18).
He was later transferred to Whiston Hospital for a mental health assessment but refused to give medics his name.
A police spokeswoman said: "He has been found since he escaped from Whiston Hospital.
"After finding him by the East Lancs he was assessed and it has been decided that he does not pose a threat to himself or the public."
