A young mum has been caught with a cocktail of class A drugs at her home in Sutton Manor.
Leanne Hamilton, of Tennyson Street, appeared before St Helens Magistrates on Friday (May 9).

The 27-year-old admitted having £340 worth of cocaine and 30 ecstasy tablets in the house she shares with her young daughter.

She was arrested on Febr
uary 7, five days after police raided her property and found the stash of illegal drugs.

In interview she admitted buying them and said all of it was for her own use.

Graham Simpson, defending, said: "She had received some compensation after a bad car crash and someone suggested celebrating.

"She had a weekend booked in Newcastle and purchased the drugs for that. This behaviour is very out of character for her.

"She is a single mum and works in a local garage in Rainhill. She supports her young daughter as the father of the child has very little contact.

"Miss Hamilton takes her family and work responsibilities very seriously and she is genuinely remorseful. She has no history of drug use and is absolutely clear of drugs."

She was given 40 hours of community service over a 12-month period and was not ordered to pay court costs.
