Man in court over child sex offences

A Haydock man has been charged with a string of sexual offences on young girls.
Brian Burns, of Bishops Reeve Road, appeared before St Helens Magistrates yesterday (Tuesday).

The 43-year-old has been accused of attempting to kidnap three young girls with the intention of committing a sexual offences on March 15.

He also faces three charges of making three young girls under the age of 13 engage in sexual activity in Clock Face and Newton-le-Willows from March 15 to April 27.

He has also been accused of sexually assaulting three young girls under the age of 13 in Sutton, Clock Face and Asthon-in-Makerfield on April 27.

He did not enter a plea but admitting possessing cannabis which he had with him when he was arrested on April 28.

His next appearance will be at Liverpool Crown Court on May 12 and he has been remanded in custody.
