Man hit by horse at Haydock Racecourse

A man is fighting for life in hospital after being struck by a run-away horse at Haydock Racecourse.
Malcolm Sibley, 64, from Newton-le-Willows,suffered serious internal injuries and remains in a critical but stable condition following emergency surgery.

Mr Sibley, who is a part-time casual worker at the racetrack, was injured after a horse got loose prior to a race on Saturday (April 26).

Two on-lookers are understood to have administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation prior to an ambulance arriving at the scene and taking him to Liverpool's Fazakerley Hospital.
