Library bosses in St Helens are to hold a borough-wide creative writing competition.
The event will be launched at the St Helens Festival, and is open to all ages proving they live, work or study in St Helens.

There are three age groups – a section for under 12's, another for young people aged 12 to 16, and one for people over 17 years of age.

Entries for the free competition can be for poetry, drama, or prose, and should be no more than 40 lines in length or 500 words.

The closing date is August 22.
