Crash causes long delays

Motorists are facing huge tailbacks after a serious incident on the M62 outside Newton-le-Willows.
A numbers of cars and a lorry were involved in the collisions, which happened between 8am and 8.30am today (Friday).

The emergency services have closed off the entire east-bound carriageway.

Commuters have been left stranded, with delays snaking back past the junction 7 Rainhill Stoops turn off. Many motorists have turned off their engines and have got out of their car.
