Campaigners donated £1,200 to Whiston Hospital's burns unit after a successful end to the long-running fight to keep the unit at the hospital.
Organisers of the Save Our Burns Units campaign received generous donations from members of the public in support of the units at Whiston Hospital and Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

After helping fight off proposals to move services to Manchester, the organisers decided to give the money raised to the units, where it can be put to good use.

NHS Trust chief executive Ann Marr said: "The trust would like to thank the campaigners and all the people who donated this money in support of our excellent burn care service at Whiston Hospital and again to everybody who backed the campaign."
