A parishioner found the body of a man outside a St Helens church.
The 51-year-old was discovered in the grounds St Mary's Lowe House Church on Friday (August 1).
He has been identified but his name has not been released. Tests reveal there was a high level of alcohol in his blood.
The man's death has been referred to the coroner but there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
The inquest is expected to be opened and concluded on Friday (August 8).
