A pub filled with smoke after the fuse box blew up in the basement.
Firefighters were called out to The Horseshoe Inn on Derbyshire Hill Road in Parr at 4am on Saturday (July 19).

A wire, carrying 415 volts, began to short and overheated causing a small fire.

The landlady heard the smoke alarms going off and contacted the emergency services.

She was not injured in the blaze.

Crews from Parr Stocks Road station used special carbon extinguishers to douse the flames which were made worse because of the burning plastic.
