SAINTS’ Mr Versatile Jon Wilkin has effectively committed the rest of his playing career to the club he joined as an 18-year-old rookie from Hull KR.
The Great Britain and England international, who can play in a host of different positions, has signed a new four-year deal, which will run to the end of the 2015 season.
Wilkin said yesterday: “It’s fantastic to pledge myself to St Helens for the next four seasons.
“I’ve had an amazing 10 years here, and I am looking for even more success in the future.
“We are all excited about the new season ahead at our new Langtree Park home, and there is a real sense of expectancy among the squad.”
Chairman Eamonn McManus said: “Jon had an outstanding Four Nations last month, proving himself against some of the best back-rowers in the world.
“He is also now a senior member of the squad, and a great ambassador not only for the club, but the game of rugby league in general.
“We are at the beginning of a new era at Saints, and Jon will be a key component of it.”
Wilkin is the second player in the last seven days to sign a four-year contract, following in the footsteps of scrum-half Jonny Lomax.
