SKIPPER Paul Wellens needs three more tries to draw level with Anthony Sullivan who is currently in sixth spot in the club’s top try scoring list.

Wellens’ touch down against Castelford in Saints’ last home match took his total to 210 in 431 appearances.

But he’s highly unlikely to catch the club’s all-time leading try scorer, Tom Van Vollenhoven, who touched down a staggering 392 times. It’s a record which will surely stand for ever.

Meanwhile, there is still time for people to protest against plans to end live coverage of rugby league matches on local radio.

Saints’ fans, who live in areas covered by Radio Merseyside, can voice their objections by ringing the BBC audience line on 03700100222.
