Injury-hit Saints stars will be given until tomorrow (Thursday) to prove their fitness for the Challenge Cup clash with Huddersfield.
Aussie playmaker Luke Walsh, centre Jordan Turner, prop Alex Walmsley and back rower Willie Manu will be among the players hoping to make the matchday squad.
Head coach Nathan Brown admitted they probably wouldn’t all make it, but refused to rule anyone out - aside from young centre Mark Percival, who is set to be sidelined for a couple more weeks, and the banned Jon Wilkin.
In-form prop Kyle Amor is set to return after completing a one-match ban.
Brown said: “A number of blokes are set to undergo tests on Thursday but unless they’re 100 per cent fit they won’t make it, I’m afraid. The players who were out for just a few weeks are all ahead of target and we’re trying to give everyone a chance.
“We won’t be playing any games when we pick our squad on Thursday. If we think a player is going to be able to play, we’ll name him. We won’t be hiding anything. We’re hopeful of getting a couple back.”
