ALEX Walmsley has admitted he has been surprised by the amount of game time he has enjoyed during his debut Super League season.
The giant prop, who arrived at Langtree Park from Batley Bulldogs during the off-season, has played 13 times in 2013, scoring three tries.
“I set myself the target of playing five games this year, so I’ve passed that and hopefully I can build on that,” said Walsley. “I’m playing most weeks now and that’s a really big thing for me.”
A Super League novice when he arrived in September, he is now being tipped for international honours by England coach Tony McNamara and has received glowing reports from teammates James Roby and Paul Wellens.
Walmsley added: “Everyone has really welcomed me and that’s made the transition a lot easier. The lads look out for me and always give me tips.”
