St Helens youngsters suffer 11-try mauling

A shell-shocked U19s oufit suffered a 11-try mauling when they entertained arch-rivals Wigan Warriors at Langtree Park last week.

Second-in-the-table St Helens were fully expected to pick up both points against a Wigan side struggling to make any impact in the competition but derby matches often turn the form book upside down and this was case in point.

Saints never recovered from finding themselves 36-6 behind at the interval, eventully going under 64-20.

Tries for the hosts came from Morgan Knowles (2), Dave Eccleston and Lewis Galbraith with Dave Hewitt and Lewis Fairhurst landing the goals.
