Kyle Eastmond has been ruled out for a month after suffering ankle ligament damage during Saints Challenge Cup win over Barrow Raiders.
The 20-year-old England international has been one of Saints stand-out performers this season, scoring 13 tries and notching 69 goals.
He fell awkwardly during the early stages of Saints quarter-final win over the Cumbrian side.
Eastmond was seen rolling in agony after the injury and there were fears he had sustained a serious injury.
However, a scan on Tuesday revealed only ligament damage, which will keep Eastmond out of the side for the rest of the month.
It means he will also miss next week's England international clash with Bobbie Goulding's France.
