COACH Royce Simmons has not given up hope on crocked winger Ade Gardner’s season.

The flying Cumbrian suffered a torn Achilles tendon in Saints’ win over the Crusaders last week.

The 27-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season, and Simmons is keen to see the back in action as soon as possible.

“The operation went well, and he’s up for a few hard months of rehab,” said the Australian.

“It’s between four to five months before he can play – hopefully he’ll be back for the last part of the season.”

LEON Pryce will NOT be moving to Catalans Dragons. The club’s coach, Trent Robinson, dismissed reports the stand-off, currently out injured, could be joining the French side.

CLUB legend Phil Veivers has been inducted in the Saints Hall of Fame.

The 47-year-old, who played 381 games for the club during the 80s and 90s, was honoured at a meeting of the Saints Past Players’ Association held on Saturday at Liverpool St Helens’ ground.
