MICHAEL Shenton is set to hold talks about his future at St Helens over the next few days.
Saints yesterday declined to comment on reports the 25-year-old had been given permission by the club’s hierachy to discuss a possible move to Hull KR.
Shenton has another year left to run on his contract at Langtree Park following his big money move from Castleford in 2011.
The England centre’s agent, Andy Clarke, said the player was happy at Saints but would discuss his future later this week.
“Some people think Michael is out of contract at the end of this season,” Clarke told the Hull Evening Mail. “He’s not, he’s got another year at St Helens after this and he is happy there.
“But I am having a meeting with Michael about his future this week and we’ll see what happens from there.”
The Hull Evening Mail also reported Sheton had been allowed to talk to Hull KR while Saints were lining up a move for Hull FC centre Jordan Turner.
No one from Saints was available for comment.
