Wigan Warriors Dan Sarginson (centre) is held up by the St Helens defence during James Roby's Testimonial match at Langtree Park.

Wigan’s teenage winger Joe Burgess pushed his claims for a regular Super League place with two second-half tries to help the champions to a 28-16 victory over St Helens in the James Roby testimonial match at Langtree Park.

Saints led 12-6 at half-time thanks to tries from winger Adam Swift and Roby, both goaled by new signing Luke Walsh, with Liam Farrell scoring for the visitors.

Burgess’ first try enabled the Warriors to draw level before stand-off Blake Green nudged them ahead. Swift kept Saints in touch with his second try but Wigan finished the stronger side, with Burgess and Gil Dudson adding further tries towards the end.
