Ex-St Helens playmaker Sean Long has left his backroom role with London Broncos - dramatically ending his fifth coaching role in the space of 12 months.
The former Great Britain ace claims he left the London side because the club wanted to make his job part-time.
But the Broncos insisted Long had failed to meet the professional levels expected of him.
“Unfortunately, Sean’s performances as an assistant coach did not meet the professional levels expected at the club. As a result, his position as full-time assistant is no longer continuing,” a club statement said.
It is the second time that Long has left a club under a cloud. Last July Wigan terminated his contract, just three months into his job as an assistant coach after he failed to “integrate” into the club.
