Adam Swift was carried off on a stretcher early in the first half of Saints 44-4 home victory over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on Friday night suffering from an ankle injury.

Head coach Keiron Cunningham's initial reaction at the post-match press conference was that the signs didn't look too good but stressed that they would be awaiting the results of a subsequent scan to assess the full nature of the injury.

Swift has scored more than 50 tries since making his senior debut against Widnes Vikings on April 15, 2012 and it will be a body blow if he is sidelined for a lengthy spell.

Saints next three matches are against champions Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors and, Widnes Vikings.
