SAINTS have signed Penrith Panthers powerhouse forward Mose Masoe on a two-year deal, bringing added bulk to the side’s pack for next season.
The 24-year-old is seen as an ideal replacement for Josh Perry, who is currently out injured but whose contract with Saints runs out at the end of the season.
He will join current teammate Luke Walsh when both join up with the Saints squad at the start of next season.
Standing at 6ft 4in and weighing almost 18 stone, Masoe started his career with Sydney Roosters, making 46 appearances for the club.
The powerful Kiwi, who has been selected to train with both the New Zealand and Samoa squad, moved to Penrith Panthers at the start of this year, and has played seven games so far this season.
“Mose is a big forward who will add a lot of size to our pack next year,” said Saints head coach Nathan Brown said. “He is young, still developing and will complement the squad we are putting together for 2014.
“We’re delighted to have secured his services and once again we’d like to thank Penrith Panthers for agreeing to release him from his contract early.”
