St Helens have been dealt an injury blow with the loss of hooker James Roby.

The 31-year-old England international is an ever-present so far this season but is facing what the club say will be a short lay-off with a knee injury.

“He has been left out of the squad for this week’s home game with Huddersfield and will work with the club’s medical staff to be back in action as soon as possible,” said a club spokesman.

Tommy Lee, who has shared the hooking duties with Roby since his arrival from Salford, is set to take on more responsibility, with Morgan Knowles providing back-up.
