SAINTS legends Paul Sculthorpe and Tommy Martyn both believe Saints can beat arch-rivals Wigan on Monday night.

But it will be a tall order.

Sculthorpe said: “It’s going to be a tough game. Saints can win - of course they can - but Wigan are obviously big favourites on current form.

“On these big derby days it’s all about what happens on the day and Saints showed against Warrington earlier this year what they’re capable of when they get things right.

“No matter what the coaches say, it’s a different preparation for the Wigan games. The intensity definitely goes up a notch.”

Martyn agreed: “Form counts for nothing in a derby game. Whoever gets the upper hand early on will probably win. It’s going to be a massive game for our forwards. Wigan will be turning up on a high and it’s up to us to bring them down.”
