MIKE Rush was rapped on the knuckles for his comments about French referee Thierry Alibert over his handling of the club’s Super League clash with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at Belle Vale on August 12.
Saints’ acting head coach was handed a £500 suspended fine by the RFL for his remarks after a game which his side lost 33-32 following a last-gasp drop goal.
With his tongue firmly in his cheek, Rush said: “I’m happy it was suspended. It means I don’t have to pay a fine as I’m the tightest man in the world!”
Rush’s tirade had come in the post-match press conference in which he claimed Alibert had “killed us” on the day.
