RUMOURS linking NRL side Parramatta with a move for Saints star James Roby are true, according to Nathan Brown.
But the Saints coach revealed that the 27-year-old hooker had not only turned down the lucrative opportunity to move to the Sydney-based side, but was now in talks with Saints over a new deal.
His current contract runs out at the end of 2014.
Brown said: “Parramatta were definitely interested in James. But they were never trying to get him for next season because they knew he wasn’t for sale. They were trying for the end of next year - in time for the 2015 season.
“Robes has told Parramatta he’s not going there and the club (Saints) are trying to sign him up for longer. He’s here next year either way.
“This is a club that wants to win things - it’s not a selling club.”
