Red hair had no ill-effect

MIKE Rush scoffed at suggestions by commentators that the colour of the Leeds players’ hair in any way impacted on Rhinos’ performance.

Several Leeds players dyed their hair bright red before kick-off to help raise funds for Sport Relief.

Players from both sides also donned special Sport Relief socks.

Speaking after Sunday’s game – on his Twitter page – Rhinos captain Jamie Peacock said: “To anyone who thinks we lost because we had red or pink hair; you are clueless.

“If I had the choice, I would do it again. 100 per cent.”

Rush agreed: “I think what Jamie Peacock said was absolutely right.

“I admire Jamie and the other players for wanting to do something for charity and dyeing their hair was certainly a brave decision.

“But it made no difference at all to the game.”
