A RAINFORD football club is settling into its new home this week after a marathon three-year fundraising effort.

Rainford Rangers now have their own home in the heart of the village, complete with five football pitches.

But it is all thanks to the ongoing fund-raising efforts of the club’s supports, including main sponsor Best Property Centre.

Supporters have also held a ‘buy a square metre’ campaign, run the length of Hadrian’s Wall and jumped from aeroplanes.

A club spokesman said: “The new ground includes five football pitches – one full-size, two for youth football and two for mini-soccer.

“Fund-raising is continually required in order to maintain such a high quality sporting facility for the local community, and Rainford Rangers are inviting the support of individuals and local businesses who may wish to be involved. Please contact the club if you can help.”

Some of the Rangers players are pictured with Best Property Centre directors and staff, together with Rangers’ chairman Graham Fenney, and the chairman of Rainford Parish Council Allan Jones and his wife Linda.
