Rainford achieved their third successive victory in the Med Imaging Liverpool and District Cricket Competition Division One with a comprehensive 123 win at Wavertree.

Spin bowlers John Dotters (4 for 14) and skipper Andy Davies (4 for 27) bowled them to the win after the batsmen had set the game up with 220 for 4 declared.

Openers Dave Tully (87) and Matt Bailey (52) laid an excellent foundation with the good work carried on by John Dotters (29 not out) and Ravi Mistry (24 not out).

Despite the rain showers there was just enough time for Wavertree to be dismissed for 97.

The second XI drew with Wavertree seconds in a rain-interrupted game after making 161 with Will Tabern (37) and Matt Campbell (33). Wavertee were 125 for 6 at the close, Cline bagging four wickets.
