Not even a dreadful start and a lively and determined opposition could deny Liverpool St Helens a fifth consecutive South Lancashire/Cheshire One victory.

Showing, in the second half in particular, much improved fitness and a good degree of organisation and control they eventually overpowered Sefton by eight tries to four.

Rocked by conceding two tries in the first five minutes they hit back with scores from Hodson, Metcalfe and Smith before being pegged back to 17-17 by a Sefton try just before the interval.

In the second half, tries again from Hodson and Smith were followed by touchdowns from Matt Cunliffe, Potter and Parkes for a comfortable win, something which seemed unlikely after the first five minutes. This Saturday LSH host West Park at Moss Lane. Kick off 2.15pm.
