St Helens Town enjoyed an excellent week - extending their winning streak to three matches and now being seven unbeaten to go to seventh in the North West Counties League Premier Division.

Tuesday night saw the visit of Squires Gate to Brocstedes Park, with Town out to continue their excellent form and to exact revenge for a 3-0 reverse in August.

Town set about the task in the right fashion early on with strike duo Andy Gillespie and Adam Storey causing problems for the visitors.

Goals came from Gillespie, plus a four-goal spurt from the rampaging Connor Sanderson.

Saturday saw West Didsbury as the visitors, and Town were again dominant from the outset.

Gillespie continued his prolific streak just before the interval receiving the ball just inside the box and powering his shot past the keeper to send Town into the break in the lead.

Gillespie then added his and Town’s second as he latched onto a returned clearance and completed his hat-trick when Storey crossed for his strike partner to send home a stooping header.
