Despite hitting a remarkable five maximums, Dave Chisnall’s (pictured) was edged out 7-5 by five-times world champion Raymond van Barneveld in the second stage of the Betway Premier League Darts at Sheffield.

Not for the first time in the tournament, the St Helens ace had problems with his finishing and that is what ultimately ended his hopes of victory Van Barneveld said: “Dave played some absolutely awesome darts and hit so many 180s, but his missed his chance to get a draw at the end and I was happy with that win.”

Chisnall now lies seventh in the table. The St Helens darts ace is currently enjoying his most successful season to date.
