Athletes tackle a Dream run

Seventeen senior members of St Helens Sutton Athletics Club took part in the third Dream Trail races.

In the Ladies 4km race Karen Harrison was the club’s first finisher in 19th place with a time of 22 minutes and 34 second.

Lauren Wilcock, the youngest of the club’s competitors was 23rd in 24 minutes and 37 seconds, Louise Hill was next with 30 minutes and 47 seconds and the final three finished consecutively with Kay Wilcock running 32 minutes and 20 seconds, followed by Donna Gordon in 32 minutes and 45 seconds and Vicky Hewitt in 35 minutes and 25 seconds.

The more experienced ladies ran in the five mile race with Sonja Monaghan finishing 30th in 38 minutes and 41 seconds, Julia Eccleston 34th in 39 minutes and 27 seconds.

Rachel Wilcock ran 43 minutes and 47 seconds, Rachel Beesley 45 minutes and 05 seconds, Helena McGoldrick 47 minutes and 08 seconds and Sarah O’Donoghue 50 minutes and 10 seconds.

The men’s race was also over five miles where Andrew Wilson was amongst the leaders finishing third in 31 minutes and 58 secs.

Barry Graney was given the victory over Mark Liptrot even though they were both given a time of 34 minutes and 46 seconds. Greg Cairns ran 35 minutes and 25 seconds and Jonathan Ford 37 mins and 7 secs.
