Tommy Makinson told of his delight at being picked in the Super League Dream Team - before praising his teammates for helping him cross the whitewash 25 times already this year.
The 22-year-old, famous for his flamboyant flying one-handed finishes in the corner, described it as “a dream come true” to be included in the season’s best XIII.
“I’m over the moon to be named in the dream team. It’s great to be recognised alongside so many Super League stars,” Makinson told the Reporter.
“It’s not something I set out to achieve at the start of the year - it’s just something that has come off the back of playing well for St Helens, which is always my first goal.
“The players around me have been a great help too. When you play on the wing you can’t do everything on your own - the likes of Luke Walsh, Jordan Turner and Jonny Lomax have been a massive help for me and the coaching staff too, who often don’t get the credit they deserve.
