New boy Zeb Taia is included in Saints’ 19-man squad for Friday’s Betfred Super League home game against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats despite only arriving in the UK on Tuesday
Welsh youngster Calvin Wellington is also named for only the second time, having featured in last year’s game against Huddersfield Giants at the
Newcastle Magic Weekend event but both Luke Douglas and Jonny Lomax are ruled out through injury.
Head coach Keiron Cunningham said: “Wakefield are a good side and have recruited well in the close season.
“But this Friday is all about us. We were disappointed with the way we started against Leigh and the manner we were exposed defensively.
