BACK rower Scott Hale has left Saints to pursue his career with Co-operative Championship club Dewsbury Rams.
The 20-year-old former Haydock Warriors player, who spent the 2012 season with Swinton Lions on a dual registration contract, made four appearances from the substitutes’ bench during his spell with St Helens.
He made his debut against Huddersfield Giants at the Galpharm Stadium on Saturday, May 14, 2011, and featured in the Challenge Cup victory the following weekend over Featherstone Rovers.
He also stepped off the bench towards the end of that season to face Salford City Reds and Harlequins – scoring his only Saints’ try in a 34-16 victory at the Twickenham Stoop.
Rams coach Glenn Morrison said: “Scott has Super League experience and already played a year in the Championship.
“He is a top-notch player – the type of player we are looking for – and we are pleased he decided to join us instead of a couple of other clubs who were interested in signing him.
“He is a quality player who will hit good lines on the edge.”
