FORMER Saints half-back Kyle Eastmond has received his first national call-up since he switched codes in 2011.
The Bath player, who has featured at wing and outside centre this season, has been named in the England Saxons squad.
Eastmond, 23, joins fellow league convert and former Wigan Warrior Joel Tomkins, who now plays for Saracens, in the national second-string squad.
England coach Stuart Lancaster said that the two squads will not be closed off and there would be chances for the Saxons to feature in the senior outfit during the Six Nations.
He said: “There will undoubtedly be movement between the two groups as we go through the championship. This is a very important year for England, there are some great opportunities for the players to demonstrate their club form at international level.”
The Saxons play their Irish counterparts, the Wolfhounds, on Friday, January 25 in Galway.
