ST Helens athlete Chelsea Jarvis has taken part in a training event with double Olympic gold medallist Kelly Holmes.
Chelsea, who competes for Stockport Harriers, was selected by Dame Kelly to take part in a recent Future Stars with Kelly Education Day at Loughborough College in Leicestershire.
The 15-year-old attended the day with her parents, Karen and Lawrence.
Chelsea, who is coached by Dave Turnbull, was invited to the prestigious event as a result of her performance at the 2010 Aviva English Schools Championships, where she won the bronze medal in the Junior 800m, having taken gold in 2009.
She moves into the Intermediate age group this year, and will be aiming to make the final again.
Earlier this year, she won the England Under-17 Indoor 1500m title, and was the England Under-15 800m silver medallist outdoors in both 2010 and 2009.
Chelsea said: “It means a lot to me to know that I have been selected by Kelly Holmes, it makes me want to progress even more.
“I have enjoyed being around all the top athletes in the country, and Kelly is very inspiring.
“I gained a lot of knowledge from the day, such as about the correct nutrition, how to prepare for the season, and some new drills to help prevent injury.”
