St Helens Reporter
  • St Helens Reporter - There is no other paper in St Helens which can boast such a proud and long history as The Reporter. The first edition of the paper rolled off the presses in 1859. The Reporter office was then based in New Market Place and it remained there until 1906 when production moved to Church Street opposite the Parish Church. During most of the 20th century, the paper was owned by the Gentry family. In 1990 they sold to Lancashire Publications and it is now owned by Johnston Press.
