Why did Saints see fit to continue issuing statements insisting there had been no damage to the roof of Langtree Park during the recent terrible weather when that was demonstrably not the case?
It is quite baffling that the club’s officials should chose to obfuscate in such a manner, and to what possible end? The council and police were out late at night battling to minimise the effects of the storm and they deserve praise for their work, not to see our leading rugby league club lambasting them for making “misinformed comments” which then turn out to be true.
Furthermore, as supporters who are being urged by the club to attend the stadium, we have every right to know whether or not the stadium was damaged - even if it was just minor damage.
The club should issue an immediate apology, but I doubt that will ever happen.
