Woman, 51, charged with Fleet Lane arson

A 51-year-old woman has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life after a massive blaze at a house in St Helens.

Sarah Brodie, of Albany Road, Lymm, Warrington, appeared at South Sefton magistrates court on Wednesday (April 27).

She was remanded in custody.

Firefighters were called to a property on Fleet Lane, Parr, at around 4am on Thursday, April 21, following reports a house was ablaze with eight people trapped inside.

Four men and four women with rescued from the terraced house and taken to hospital to be treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.
