AN elderly man and a teenager were both hospitalised with whiplash following a three-vehicle crash.

Emergency crews were called to the A570 Rainford Bypass at about midday last Tuesday (June 28).

A green Peugeot 206, a blue Nissan Almera and a black Vauxhall Meriva were all involved in the smash near to the road’s junction with Mill Lane.

An 88-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were both taken to hospital with whiplash-type injuries.

Neither of the casualties were trapped in their vehicles, so firefighters focussed on clearing debris from the roadway.

Witnesses should call 0151 709 6010.
