Two people were hospitalised following a two-car crash in St Helens.
Emergency crews were called to Watery Lane, Sutton, at about 7.40pm last Wednesday (May 7).
Firefighters from St Helens, Newton-le-Willows and the force’s search and rescue team used hydraulic cutting equipment to release a 61-year-old man and 50-year-old woman from one of the vehicles.
Both casualties were taken to Whiston Hospital for treatment although neither’s condition was believed to be serious. All other occucpants were uninjured.
