POLICE are hunting a man with a local accent after a lorry driver was kidnapped by masked thugs, bound and dumped near St Helens.
Detectives have launched a manhunt after the terrifying early hours ambush, which saw the distressed 32-year-old victim abandoned on a remote country lane.
The trucker was tied up and bundled into the back of a van on Winwick Road, Warrington, at 3am on August 12 after being forced to re-route his HGV. He was then dumped from the van near St Helens.
Police say one of the robbers had a St Helens accent. Call 0845 458 0000.
